Notes
The subject of an imperative sentence is always YOU.
Therefore, there can be such a thing as a one-word sentence, if it is imperative.

Simple Sentence= just the subject and predicate
Complex Sentence= two separate thoughts, two separate subjects and predicates

1. Begins is an action verb. Begins what? Beings process. PROCESS is the direct object.
2. Sang what? Sang song. SONG is the direct object.

4. No direct object!!! Seemed is a linking verb, NOT an action verb; therefore, it can't have an object.

Indirect Objects- tell FOR whom or TWO whom or what an action is done

1. Sends is an action verb. Sends what? Sends script. Script is the direct object. Sends script to whom? To director. DIRECTOR is the idirect object.
2. Brings pie to whom? To me. ME is the indirect object.
- Be careful! If you say DIRECTOR is the direct object, it looks as though the scriptwriter is sending the director in the mail!!! :)

Q. Why is "body" not a noun in sentence 1 but it is a noun in sentence 2?
A. Because in sentence 1 it's a description of the kind of glove.

Q. Why is "Hawaii" a noun in sentence 3 but not in sentence 4?
A. In sentence 4 it describes the kind of shirt.

Q. Why is all of "Hawaiian Military Museum" underlined but not all of "Hawaiian shirt"?
A. "Hawaiian Military Museum" is a title, and the whole thing is the noun. "Hawaiian shirt" is just a noun and an adjective, not a title of anything.

1. Names are nouns, even if they have more than one word.
2. Nouns do NOT include the words that describe them!
3. Some nouns cannot be touched or seen.
4. Some nouns are plural.
5. some nouns are proper (and capitalized).

Examples
1. The name I gave Jazzy came from his wild colors.
2. However, I name most of my fish according to their personalities.

The nouns in sentence 1 are NAME, JAZZY, and COLORS.
The nouns in sentence 2 are FISH and PERSONALITIES.


Note- In sentence 2, NAME is not a noun because it's an action being done to the fish.
Note- In sentence 1, NAME is a thing I gave my fish; things are nouns.
